Can your Birth Order Help you Find the Right Work at Home Job?

Does that sound crazy? Maybe it does, but just relax and I will explain it…. I am talking about birth order. Were you the oldest, youngest or middle? Were you born first, last or like me, the dreaded middle child?
I have been intrigued with birth order since I was old enough to know that I was in the middle. “Middle child syndrome”, I will bet you have heard that. Well, I have been studying birth order for five years. Let me tell you, it is fascinating; it can be especially helpful if you let it lead you to the PERFECT WORK FROM HOME JOB.
“I want to work from home.
What would I be good at?”
Consider this:
If you are a first-born child, (oldest in your family) you are more likely to be analytical, organized and detail oriented. You would prefer to perform tasks such as paperwork, filing or data entry. I guess you would also call this “busy work”. Perhaps you would enjoy medical transcription that is a detail-oriented job. As a first-born you might think of preparing taxes for people. Another good choice is being a personal shopper or helping other busy moms (wealthy moms) with their organizational challenges. Another area you may be good in is PLANNING. This could be small weddings, office parties, and baby showers. All of these choices are for the first -born child that is really detail oriented.
If you decide to work from in sales, be careful…. Sales will be a skill that you will have to work on. However, in almost any job from home that you do, you will have to sell yourself and your skills.
If you are a middle child like me, you are more likely to have excellent people skills and natural sales ability. Avon, Mary Kay or other companies that have home parties or require you to leave your house and get in front of people. A career in sales was the perfect fit for me. Some of these women enjoy home day care, perhaps sitting with elderly people or dog sitting. You could also have a great time planning children’s birthday parties. Don’t do anything that requires too much organization or you will be miserable. Middle children are social butterflies. Many of the wealthiest people in America are middle born, sales people. It is very simple to find a work from home job in this type of sales.
If you are the baby (last born) you are more likely to have some natural art/ music talents. Perhaps you would design unique graduation invitations, maybe business cards. You are usually funny, outgoing and have an ability to bond with people. Sales would be great for you too. Usually you may struggle with organization also. If you are a talented cook or baker, catering would be a perfect fit for you. You may struggle with details at first: however, once you get focused and put your mind to it, you will be awesome in whatever business you choose. A lot of great artists and musicians are the baby in the family. If you are the baby of your family, concentrate on you artsy/musical talents and you can come up with the perfect work from home career.
I have interviewed over 4,000 individuals and 90% of the time, my theory on birth order as it relates to what career you choose is accurate. There are always exceptions. The most important thing to consider is YOUR PERSONALITY. Good luck on discovering more about yourself.
